One of my favorite quotes is from Earl Nightingale. It says, “Don’t give up on a dream because of the time it will take. The time will pass anyway.”
I’ve had a dream that’s taken a long time to become a reality – dating. I’ve been in a wonderful relationship for almost a year now and have gained three lessons I want to share with you. They can apply to any dream, not just to having a significant other.
1. Go The Easy Route - Someone I really admire told me, “When it’s right, it’s easy.” That doesn’t mean you take it for granted or go through the motions. Any dream worth having takes a lot of effort and energy, but it’s worth it. What that advice means is, when it’s right, it falls into place. It feels natural.
2. Feel The Rush - A true dream is both exhilarating and scary. You feel very alive, but you also understand the stakes of it. It’s a big deal. That’s another way you know you’re on to something.
3. Where Have You Been All My Life? - There’s no longer something missing. Many of us come to a point where life’s pretty good, but there’s still a void. You may not even know what it is at first, but once you’ve recognize your dream, you can tell that feeling’s gone. That’s a pretty good indicator that you’re on your way and in the heart of your dream journey.
When you notice these three signs, you’re on a good track. Stick with it and don’t give up!
